Astro-STEM Workshop and Mentorship Program

The Astro-STEM Workshop and Mentorship program  for secondary schoolgirls in Year 1 & 2.

The program aims to encourage and facilitate early participation of girls in STEM subjects through hands-on Science practicals.

We also aim to increase the number of girls selecting Physics in high school and

sitting for the Physics national examination.

Program Impact

  • 5 Secondary schools enrolled under the program (Noigam, AIC Kipkekei Girls, St.Peters Girls &  UPEC Girls Osorongai in Kitale County and Igikiro Mixed Day Secondary School in Murang'a County.

  • Over 1000 students engaged since 2021

  • Overall change in attitude of the girls towards STEM/Physics subjects, improved grades and more girls are now selecting Physics.
