Our Vision

Besides the issues of poverty, lack of school fees, teenage pregnancies and early marriages, there is a general lack of leadership and mentorship for young schoolgirls in rural areas. Most mentorship and leadership programmes are aimed at girls who are already in secondary schools, which misses out the important demographic of girls transitioning between primary and secondary school education.

Addressing this issue of gender disparity and equality in education is critically important for social and economic growth within these regions. Elimisha Msichana Elimisha Jamii recognizes that the whole community and wider society benefit when the girl child is educated. It is through education that a girl is first exposed to leadership, given a voice, given a chance to develop crucial lifelong skills that will help in her future career, in taking care of her home, community and country.
