Our Story

Most girls growing up in rural areas in Kenya and Africa, do not complete secondary education due to various socio-economic challenges. Some of these social-economic challenges include poverty, teenage pregnancies, early marriages, FGM and  lack of leadership & mentorship programs.

Elimisha Mischana Elimisha Jamii (Swahili for 'educate a girl, educate the entire community') Programme aims to raise wider awareness of these challenges and find solutions to them. Our goal is to involve the local communities in positively tackling the above socio-economic challenges, besides providing leadership, mentorship and long term monitoring to their girls to ensure that they successfully transition from primary-to-secondary school and actually complete secondary education.

Our objective is to see a 100% transition between the Kenya Certificate for Primary Education (KCPE) and the Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) schoolgirls in rural areas.
